2021 FORESTRY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

2021 FASC Scholarship Recipients

The SC Forestry Foundation’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that the following scholarships have been awarded to recognize and encourage forestry students with high academic achievements and leadership potential. The recipients: Bryson Thompson, Johnston, SC, scholarship of $4,000 at Clemson University; Christopher D. Wilson, II, Moncks Corner, SC, scholarship of $4,000 at Clemson University; Heather E. Newman, Georgetown, SC, scholarship of $2,000 at Horry-Georgetown Technical College; Jackson Smith, St. Matthews, SC – a Clemson University student, will receive the $4,000 Mary-Julia C. Royall Scholarship. The scholarship was established in 2017 by Royall of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was 1982 SC Tree Farmer of the Year and a long time member of the Forestry Association of South Carolina.

The SC Forestry Foundation, established in 1980, serves as the education, conservation, and research arm of the Forestry Association. The Foundation began awarding scholarships in 1987.



2021 HUDSON FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

2021 Hudson Family Scholarship

The SC Forestry Foundation’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that the HUDSON FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP has been awarded to these recipients: James Dewitt “Witt” Hook, Jr., West Columbia, SC, a scholarship of $2,000 -- Bridge to Clemson University; and Bryson Woodard, Manning, SC, a scholarship of $4,000 at Clemson University. Woodard is currently studying plant and environmental sciences with a concentration in agricultural biotechnology at Clemson University in hopes of pursuing a career in natural resources.

Steve and Marie Hudson, Union, SC established the Hudson Family Scholarship Fund to be administered through the SC Forestry Foundation. The scholarship is unique in that it is devoted to a student associated with the forest industry -- which includes either through family ties or student degree pursuits. It is administered by the Foundation Board in accordance with criteria specified by the Hudsons.



The SC Forestry Foundation, established in 1980, serves as the education, conservation, and research arm of the SC Forestry Association. The Foundation began awarding scholarships in 1987.
